POP UP PANEL BIRTHDAY CARD

Another great FUN FOLD design! Here is a Pop Up Panel Card--makes a super Birthday card with any design and paper you would like to use. Anyone can make this! You will have your friends and family as well as yourself exclaiming...How did you do that??? ENJOY!

Lets cut our pieces:

*1-8-1/2 x 10-3/4 in piece of Whisper White for the panel mechanism. On the LONG end score at 3-7/8; 5-3/8; 6-7/8 in
On the SHORT end score at 2-2/4; 4-1/4; 6-1/4 in

*1 piece of Whisper White cut 3 x 3 in for cover

*4 scrap pieces of Whisper White approximately 2-1/2 x 2 in for the panel sentiments.

*1 piece of Rich Razzleberry cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 for the base card

*1 piece of Rich Razzleberry cut 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in for the layer to the white cover piece

*1 piece of Rich Razzleberry cut 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 for the HAPPY BIRTHDAY Die Cut.

*1 piece of Rich Razzleberry cut 2-3/4 x 11 in for the panel---score at 2-3/4; 5-1/2; 8-1/4

*With your DSP cut: 1-cover layer at 4 x 5-1/4 in
Cut 2 inside panels at 3-3/4 x 5 in
Cut 4 layers for Panel at 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 in

Now for a little Stamping:

*With your 4 scrap pieces of Whisper White, stamp your chosen sentiments on 3 of the 4 and stamp the small flower design (Petal Palette) on the last.

*Cut the CELEBRATE stamp and your flower with the Tailored Tag punch---then straight cut the 2 last sentiments as you choose.
We will cut the last inside DSP layers after the mechanism is completed.

Completing the POP UP MECHANISM:

*With the large scored Whisper White piece that measures 8-1/2 x 10-3/4 in gently and precisely cut the 4 outer rectangles.

*With the short squares to your left and right and with the card stock laying on a flat surface---you will see the score lines top to bottom and side to side with a "+" in the middle.
TAKE NOTE: Keep in mind that center point will be your point of reference when folding this card.

*Holding the left short side flap, fold to the right, aligning the scoreline of the that flap with the vertical scoreline. Make sure your fold aligns with that center cross section. Keep it straight and burnish with your bone folder. Do the same to the right side. TAKE YOUR TIME to ensure you are aligning all the right score lines.

*Holding both the short sides with your thumb and index finger, gently bounce up the ends slowly so that the center Horizontal folds up on itself---Your card should be square at the bottom with the top looking like a rooftop. Set it aside.

*With your long panel gently fold back and forth on the score lines. Add the DSP layers to each of the 4 panels. Then add your 4 sentiment pieces as your top layer. Use your adhesive of choice.

*Fold up the long panel piece so that it looks like an M
*Take the Whisper White Mechanism piece you made---and open--lay it flat in front of you. Using Multipurpose glue, apply the glue to the upper outer right section on the right short square.

*Apply Multipurpose glue to the left lower outer section of the left short square.

*With the panel folded and the open side down, place on the bottom edge of the mechanism. Fold the top part of the mechanism down and press so the panel adheres.
Flip the card around and adhere the other side the glued mechanism.
*You then should be able to open the card showing the POP UP effect.

*With your 2 DSP pieces left for the inside. Trim the top of the pieces in a V so that they will fit under the panel--They don't have to be perfect as they will be hidden under the panel. You may need to trim off the bottom of the DSP so as to give that 1/4 in layered border to the white mechanism.

*Glue the Happy Birthday die cut to the square white piece and adhere to the front of the last DSP layer (4 x 5-1/4 in) adhere your last layer to the card.

This is a bit tricky but you'll be happy and proud of your results.
